Savvy Design...

I really enjoyed peeking inside the home of assistant style editor {and blogger} at House & Home, Michael Penney. He and his wife added character by mixing vintage finds with pieces from Pottery Barn, Ikea, and West Elm {something we all can do}. And check out the DIY paint and wallpaper projects they did to add style to their kitchen, bathroom, living room, and bedroom. Budget friendly inspiration is always great!

Spook Me Not...

I don't do scary, so my Halloween decor would probably look a little more like this. I know, not as fun, but it will have to do until we have trick or treaters of our own {meaning personally and neighborly - no kids trick or treat at condos}.

iTouch Giveaway...

*This giveaway is closed. Thank you for all the entries*
Today I am happy to be a part of an awesome giveaway! When DuPont contacted me to introduce their new {free} mySurface iPhone application which allows users to quickly search for Corian® and Zodiaq® colors by hue, providing the user with a color swatch filling the screen, along with information on how to order a sample. DuPont offered to send me a complimentary iTouch to download the free mySurface app to experience it firsthand and to give feedback; I happily accepted!

After receiving the iTouch a few days later, it was easy to find and download the mySurface app {as I am not a iPhone/iTouch user previous to this}. I was impressed; as a designer that has worked in both the commercial and currently the residential field, I feel the mySurface app is a tool that can and will be used by designers, architects, contractors, and home owners. I currently have Corian countertops in my kitchen and was happy to find that the colors match perfectly from the iTouch to the actual product.

Would you like to experience the mySurface app firsthand as well?!
DuPont is offering an iTouch to one lucky a life’s design follower and reader.

Purdy Giveaway...

*This giveaway is now closed. Thank you for all the entries!*
Calling all do-it-yourselfers! We have all painted before and have spent countless hours choosing the perfect paint color. After selecting the paint color, we pick the supplies; and how many of us have skimped on the brushes and rollers {I know I have}, and we have all paid the price in the extra time and labor it takes to paint. Purdy has handcrafted the highest quality painting tools for over 80 years, and have been the preferred choice of professional painters. When painters demand products that enable them to paint better and faster, they select Purdy, knowing “using is believing”.
I love how Purdy brushes gives you a smooth, perfect finish the first time, leaving no brush marks or lost bristles. The brushes hold more paint, so you don’t have to refill as much and with the chiseled edge {and a steady hand} no taping is required and there is less clean-up. I don’t know about you, but I am always excited to paint at first, but slowly get fatigued and just want to finish. Any brush and roller that can make me a better and faster painter, I am sold! Another reason I like Purdy so much is that it is ‘green’, and is a brush you can use over and over again {it isn’t just a brush to throw away}. Purdy provides you all the tools you need, from their products, to tips, to coupons, to painting knowledge.

Purdy is giving one reader a 2.5” series brush for all paints and a White Dove roller.
